What is Tarot anyway?

In a nutshell: the Tarot is a card deck consisting of 78 cards. There are 22 Major Arcana cards that tend to address broader life themes and 56 Minor Arcana cards that address more of the day to day trials and joys. It has a long history with many uses: a set of playing cards, a divination device, a tool to support accessing unconsciousness knowing.

Why would I want to get a reading?

And why from you?

The readings I provide are meant to support you in hearing your "inner voice" or higher self/guidance, gain perspective, identify patterns, gain clarity, and remind you of your agency and power to impact your life. I do not use Tarot cards for telling the future, as I don't believe the future is fixed. (See my Ethics at the bottom of the page for more info.)

Most of the people who enjoy readings with me are looking for "deep dives"—searching to better understand the root of a repeating pattern in their lives, increased clarity regarding strengths and challenges of their current situation, relationship, or business/creative endeavor, support navigating a transitional period in their life, and for guidance around planning next steps. I welcome all identities to my readings.

I bring a unique lens to my readings. I’m a writer, have a background in acting/performance, and am trained as a licensed clinical social worker. My experience creating art, exploring mysticism, and participating daily in my own healing journey sharpens my intuitive, spiritual, and creative gifts. I offer readings that compassionately incorporate sociocultural and justice issues, individual circumstances, and knowledge of our bodies and nervous systems to create a more holistic tarot reading experience. Although Tarot readings are not therapy and should not be used in the place of therapy, my training as a licensed clinical social worker allows me to hold a specific trauma aware, somatic (related to the body), and healing oriented approach.

Additionally, I'm a proud alum of both the Anansi and Crossroad's tarot training cohorts from Jade T. Perry's Cecilia Weston Tarot Academy. I was a part of the teaching team as a "Technique and Craftsperson", giving detailed feedback and encouragement to students on their readings as they progressed through the academy.

At this time, 100% of my proceeds from Tarot reads are redistributed to Black, Queer and Trans/non-binary/gender fluid community members.

My tarot ethics

  • #1

I am a Black, Queer, neuroexpansive, mystic femme striving for universal liberation. My intersecting identities and values shape my worldview and tarot practice.

  • #2

I believe in a fluid future where we have agency. I don't predict fixed outcomes, but explore possibilities and potential paths.

  • #3

At my table, we mind our business and believe in consent. I won't read about others' thoughts or feelings. We'll concentrate on empowering you.

  • #4

These readings are not therapy. These readings should not be used to diagnose and / or treat any medical conditions (please consult your physician and/or therapist). I am not responsible or liable for any damages or negative consequences from preparation, application, and / or action to any person who freely chooses to view and / or utilize contents from the reading. References to other materials (e.g. books, films, decks, etc) may be shared for informational purposes only and not as a specific endorsement.

  • #5

I don’t do readings regarding physical death/birth/health. I may refuse sessions if needed and discourage over-reliance on tarot.

  • #6

For liability reasons, I need to note that “Tarot card readings are primarily provided for ‘entertainment’ purposes & should not be used to replace more specific messages that you may be receiving from other professionals you are working with.”

  • #7

While legally termed 'entertainment', I deeply respect tarot and its potential for insight, approaching each reading with honor and care.

What people are saying

  • "I am still thinking of the space Christina carved out for me months later. I can't recommend her enough. I so appreciated the intention given to our time together even before our session began. She both guided me through the process as well as gave me ample room to experience and digest the cards for myself. I left feeling energized and open hearted."

  • “Calming, enlightening, cathartic."

  • “I would highly recommend a reading from Chris. The way they were able to support using multiple decks and also offer the wisdoms of the elements was key for me. I deeply enjoyed this space and would recommend it for folks who are wanting to be held in a tendered way while also being asked to be with some deep and possibly challenging truths."”

  • "The business tarot readings became a way for me to monthly track my progress, stumbles and big triumphs. The biggest being, having her a witness when I realized my confidence in my own leadership, creativity and follow through had substantially increased. Christina facilitates these reading in an affirming way and though she is present and engaged, her own experiences never seem to overshadow the focus on the messages, the ah ha's or the deep work and desires of the tarot client - business owner themself."
