The Devil

In the Next World Tarot edition’s Devil card—“Dissolve The Empire Undertaking” is graffitied over the top; “The New Order Of The Ages” graces the bottom. A figure that looks like 45 is shaking hands with a Klansman in front of a jury of ghastly pale faces. The inner workings of a tv with rats and poison. A bleeding shark with the dollar sign in its jaws. Torpedoes. Pollution. A child fighting with another child over money. A parent holding their child to their chest. A parent holding their child close. A youth sitting cross legged, looking calm as they turn the pages of a large book/newspaper.

Chaos. Breaking. Evil. Overstimulation. Yet, in the center, Connection. Choosing to take in knowledge. Calm.

The Devil card evokes a lot of different reactions for me, depending on the deck, the day, the placement. I drew today with the intention regarding a message to share. This feels more than appropriate. 

The Devil card often makes me think of trickster energy— but the trickster is yourself.

What have you refused to see? What have you allowed yourself to be blinded to? Where have you deceived yourself and others? 

My loves— there is no “going back to normal”. And thank all that is good for that— our “normal” was built on centuries of genocide, slavery, hate, deceit, a belief in profit over people, an idea that the Earth exists to be conquered. It was never sustainable. Many never had the “privilege” to not see what has been there all along— but now the venom is seeping out of so many orifices that no one can hide from what is real. The Tower is coming.

How do you want to live from this point forward? The illusive veil of “that can wait”  or “someone else’s problem” is dissolving. We are all connected.

How can you allow yourself to release? 

The choices made now have more consequences than you can imagine. Choose wisely.
